Pliny's been a bit pre-occupied of late, but I'd like to conduct a little experiment this week. The Right wing pundits are always talking about this 'war on religious freedom", that only they, and their admirers seem to be able to see, as far as I can tell. So this week, I'm collecting a sample of news events. All are welcome to contribute. In one column will be all the articles from the news (that I can find or that I am sent) that are examples of attacks on religious freedom here in the good 'ole USA, and the second column will be articles about attacks by the religious on the freedoms of others. It should be interesting.

Here's one to get the ball rolling...
From the article:
"While we all see all this as a great political conflict in warfare between the Obama camp and the McCain camp and culture wars, what Bishop Aquila put his finger on and what I think, I suspect those of you who are here understand, this is not a political war at all. This is not a cultural war. This is a spiritual war," Santorum said in August of 2008.
For the record, I couldn't find a single real example of religious persecution in the USA last week. I did however, see more than a dozen examples of theological-based persecution of other groups or political viewpoints such as gay marriage, science education, and the SC Constitutional ban on atheists in office.
